After 25 years of producing lead adhesive wheel weights, Cascade decided to shift its focus to the steel wheel weight business. Cascade acquired BADA’s machinery and technology and moved production to the new facility in Auburn, Kentucky. Our engineers, sales managers, and machine operators on board, all have a wealth of experience from their time working at the old BADA company. Our team works tirelessly to ensure that every product we produce meets our high standards for quality, performance and reliability.
We now produce all of our steel tape-a weights and steel clip-on wheel weights in Auburn, Kentucky, which is approximately 20 miles from the old BADA factory. All of our steel wheel weights are made in Kentucky. We’re dedicated to providing a high-quality, domestically-made product at a competitive price.
When Fred Bagaman and Vernon Dapper of Pasadena, CA, combined the first letters of their last names in 1945 to form BADA, Inc., they established a leading reputation as a premium quality supplier of wheel balancing weights and related wheel balancing products. After considering several locations in the eastern half of the US, the decision was made to move BADA operations from Pasadena to Bowling Green, KY in the summer of 1973. The “Micro Line” weights were produced exclusively for many years until the introduction of adhesive weights in 2004 and steel clip weights in 2005 in response to environmental concerns.
The business was sold to the Hennessy Company in 1975. Hennessy made the difficult decision to close BADA in December of 2022. Cascade purchased BADA’s machinery and technology from Hennessy in February, 2023. BADA’s equipment was moved to Auburn, Kentucky where it now operates under the name of Cascade Wheel Weights Inc.
